Thomas Wade, MD, Principal Investigator - Dr. Wade received his MD from the Indiana University School of Medicine and completed his Internal Medicine residency at St. Joseph Hospital/Northwestern University School of Medicine in Chicago. He certified with the American Board of Internal Medicine in 1999. He practiced primary care Internal medicine in Indianapolis, Indiana for 10 years prior to moving to South Florida. He has been a Principal Investigator since 2004 and has extensive experience in all phases of clinical research. Dr. Wade joined QPS|MRA in June, 2015. He is a Certified Principal Investigator and is a member of the American College of Physicians, the American Association for Physician Leadership, the American Association on Communication in Healthcare and the Association of Clinical Research Professionals.

Jaime A. Pachon, MD, Director of Rheumatology is Board Certified in Rheumatology and Internal medicine, with more than a decade of research experience. He received his medical degree from the Juan N. Corpas School of Medicine in Bogota, Colombia, and completed his internship and residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Nevada. Dr. Pachon was then the Chief Fellow of Rheumatology at the University of Miami School of Medicine at Jackson Memorial Hospital. In addition to the over 100 clinical trials that Dr. Pachon has presided over at MRA, he also maintains a private Rheumatology practice and is a Voluntary Assistant Professor of Rheumatology at the University of Miami School of Medicine.

Jorge Caso, MD, CPI, Family Practitioner is a graduate of Higher Institute of Medical Sciences of Havana, Cuba where he completed his Internal Medicine internship (1986). Dr. Caso finished his residency as a 1st Degree Family Practice Specialist at Diez de Octubre Teaching Hospital of Havana in 1991. Dr. Caso passed his Board of Medicine in the U.S.A. in 2000. He has been a licensed APPI Certified Investigator at Miami Research Associates since 2007 and has been involved in in more than 200 clinical trials.

Americo F. Padilla, MD, Director of Psychiatry and Pediatrics has more than 25 years of research experience, and has conducted over 30 trials at MRA since joining us in 2003. He is board-certified in both Adult and Child Psychiatry, and serves on the lecture bureau for multiple pharmaceutical companies speaking on child, adolescent, and adult ADHD. He received his medical degree from the University Autonoma of Santo Domingo, and completed his Residency and Fellowship at the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Columbia University at Harlem Hospital. In addition to his activities in research, Dr. Padilla maintains his own private psychiatry practice, and is Chief of Psychiatry at Miami Children’s Hospital.

Bruce Kohrman, MD, Director of Neuroscience is a Board Certified Neurologist, and has been involved in clinical research for more than 10 years. He and specializes in Neuro-opthalmology, Parkinson’s Disease, Alzheimer’s, and Migraines. He is a respected lecturer in his field. Dr. Kohrman received his undergraduate education at Stanford University and his Medical degree from Case Western Reserve. He completed his post-doctoral training at Beth Israel Hospital at Harvard Medical School. In addition to his work at MRA, Dr. Kohrman is a Voluntary Associate Professor of Neurology at the University of Miami and maintains a successful private neurology practice.

Rafael Rivas-Vazquez, PsyD, Director of Neuropsychology is a Board Certified Psychologist and has been an Investigator at MRA for almost 10 years (since 1998) and has been involved in more than 100 clinical trials. He has published over 60 papers and abstracts, is a renowned national lecturer in the field of psychology, and is on the speaker’s bureau of four major pharmaceutical companies. Dr. Rivas-Vaszuez received a BS in Psychology from Georgetown University, a Doctorate of Clinical Psychology from Nova Southeastern University and an MS in Clinical Psychopharmacology, also from Nova Southeastern. He completed his pre-and post-doctoral training at Harvard Medical School and University of Miami School of Medicine. He is also currently an Adjunct Associate Professor in Psychology at the University of Miami.

Gustavo Rey, PsyD, Neuropsychology Investigator is a Board Certified Psychologist with extensive experience in clinical research, having been published over 70 times in national journals and having conducted over 95 psychology-related studies at MRA. Dr. Rey received his PhD and Master’s Degree in Clinical Neuropsychology from the University of Houston. In addition to his work at MRA, Dr. Rey is currently on the staff of five local hospitals, serves as an Adjunct Associate Professor of Psychology at the University of Miami, and is the Director of Neuropsychology at Miami Children’s Hospital.
