Robert A. Feldman, MD, Director of Women's Health is Board Certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology. He has an outstanding reputation for both his personal involvement and attention to detail. Dr. Feldman attended Amherst College, Medical School at the University of Miami – School of Medicine and performed his Internship and Residency at Jackson Memorial Hospital. He has been also active in many of the pharmaceutical and nutrition/supplement clinical trials. Dr. Feldman’s vast community experience has helped guide the over 100 clinical trials that he has been involved in, both as Principal Investigator and as medical staff.

Diane R. Krieger, MD, Director of Endocrinology & Nutrition is Board Certified in Endocrinology / Metabolism and Clinical Nutrition, and has been nominated as one of America’s top physicians since 2003 by the Consumer Research Council of America. Dr. Krieger's received her Medical Degree from The University of California at San Francisco. She trained in Internal Medicine and Endocrinology at Beth Israel Hospital, Harvard Medical School in Boston, MA. She is a Certified Clinical Trial Investigator by the Association of Clinical Research Professionals, and has been conducting clinical research trials for over 15 years.

Robert Salzman, MD, Assistant Director of Phase I Unit is Board Certified in Internal Medicine and Rheumatology. Dr. Salzman graduated from Tulane University School of Medicine in New Orleans. He received his medical internship, residency and fellowship at University of Miami Jackson Memorial Hospital/Jackson Health. He has served as principal investigator of numerous clinical trials since the 1970's. Dr. Salzman has authored many publications and has extensive research experience with internal medicine, rheumatology and early phase research studies.

Martha Hernandez-Illas, MD, Medical Director-Phase I Unit is board certified in both Internal Medicine and Rheumatology. After completing residency and fellowship at University of Miami she pursued both a private practice in Rheumatology and clinical trials. In addition she was a voluntary faculty in Rheumatology at University of Miami and was a speaker for the Arthritis Foundation. Presently she dedicates all her time to early phase trials having conducted over 100 clinical trials.

David J. Seiden, MD, Medical Director of QPS Broward Research in Hollywood, Florida. He received his medical degree at Georgetown University in Washington, DC and residency training at the Neurological Institute of New York at Columbia University. He is board certified in Neurology and Sleep Medicine and has clinical trial expertise in a wide range of therapeutic areas including Neurosciences, Sleep Disorders, Vaccines, Weight loss, Smoking Cessation and early phase research. Dr. Seiden has served as Principal Investigator for numerous clinical trials spanning two decades and has co-authored many scientific publications.

  Thomas Wade, MD, Principal Investigator - Dr. Wade received his MD from the Indiana University School of Medicine and completed his Internal Medicine residency at St. Joseph Hospital/Northwestern University School of Medicine in Chicago. He certified with the American Board of Internal Medicine in 1999. He practiced primary care Internal medicine in Indianapolis, Indiana for 10 years prior to moving to South Florida. He has been a Principal Investigator since 2004 and has extensive experience in all phases of clinical research. Dr. Wade joined QPS|MRA in June, 2015. He is a Certified Principal Investigator and is a member of the American College of Physicians, the American Association for Physician Leadership, the American Association on Communication in Healthcare and the Association of Clinical Research Professionals.

Jaime A. Pachon, MD, Director of Rheumatology is Board Certified in Rheumatology and Internal medicine, with more than a decade of research experience. He received his medical degree from the Juan N. Corpas School of Medicine in Bogota, Colombia, and completed his internship and residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Nevada. Dr. Pachon was then the Chief Fellow of Rheumatology at the University of Miami School of Medicine at Jackson Memorial Hospital. In addition to the over 100 clinical trials that Dr. Pachon has presided over at MRA, he also maintains a private Rheumatology practice and is a Voluntary Assistant Professor of Rheumatology at the University of Miami School of Medicine.

Jorge Caso, MD, CPI, Family Practitioner is a graduate of Higher Institute of Medical Sciences of Havana, Cuba where he completed his Internal Medicine internship (1986). Dr. Caso finished his residency as a 1st Degree Family Practice Specialist at Diez de Octubre Teaching Hospital of Havana in 1991. Dr. Caso passed his Board of Medicine in the U.S.A. in 2000. He has been a licensed APPI Certified Investigator at Miami Research Associates since 2007 and has been involved in in more than 200 clinical trials.

Margarita Garces, MD, Rheumatology Investigator, is Board Certified in Rheumatology. She received her medical degree from Instituto de Ciencias de la Salud, Medellin, Colombia. She did her residency in internal medicine at Mount Sinai Medical Center. Dr. Garces completed her fellowship in rheumatology and immunology at University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Hospital. Dr. Garces is a Diplomate of the American Boards of Internal Medicine and Rheumatology. Dr. Garces is fluent in English and Spanish.

Americo F. Padilla, MD, Director of Psychiatry and Pediatrics has more than 25 years of research experience, and has conducted over 30 trials at MRA since joining us in 2003. He is board-certified in both Adult and Child Psychiatry, and serves on the lecture bureau for multiple pharmaceutical companies speaking on child, adolescent, and adult ADHD. He received his medical degree from the University Autonoma of Santo Domingo, and completed his Residency and Fellowship at the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Columbia University at Harlem Hospital. In addition to his activities in research, Dr. Padilla maintains his own private psychiatry practice, and is Chief of Psychiatry at Miami Children’s Hospital.

Bruce Kohrman, MD, Director of Neuroscience is a Board Certified Neurologist, and has been involved in clinical research for more than 10 years. He and specializes in Neuro-opthalmology, Parkinson’s Disease, Alzheimer’s, and Migraines. He is a respected lecturer in his field. Dr. Kohrman received his undergraduate education at Stanford University and his Medical degree from Case Western Reserve. He completed his post-doctoral training at Beth Israel Hospital at Harvard Medical School. In addition to his work at MRA, Dr. Kohrman is a Voluntary Associate Professor of Neurology at the University of Miami and maintains a successful private neurology practice.

Timothy L. Grant, MD, Director of Sleep Medicine and Neurology Investigator  is Board Certified in Neurology and Sleep Medicine. He is recognized as an expert in the field of sleep disorders. He received a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Miami, and also graduated from the University of Miami School of Medicine. Dr. Grant continued to complete his internship and residency at Jackson Memorial Hospital and the Miami Veterans Administration Hospital. Dr. Grant is well-versed in the latest of clinical research practices, and specializes in studying and understanding sleep disorders, Alzheimer’s disease, and Parkinson’s disease.

Douglas Kalman, PhD, Director of Nutrition and Applied Clinical Trials, has been involved in over 100 clinical trials and projects within the pharmaceutical and nutrition/supplement fields. He has published over 50 abstracts and more than 25 peer-reviewed manuscripts. He is also on the Editorial Board of three Scientific Journals. Dr. Kalman received his undergraduate degree from Florida State University, Masters Degree from Hunter College City University of New York and Doctorate in exercise and nutritional biochemistry from Touro University International. He is co-founder of The International Society of Sports Nutrition. Dr. Kalman is also an Adjunct Professor in the Robert Stempel School of Public Health at Florida International University.

Rafael Rivas-Vazquez, PsyD, Director of Neuropsychology is a Board Certified Psychologist and has been an Investigator at MRA for almost 10 years (since 1998) and has been involved in more than 100 clinical trials. He has published over 60 papers and abstracts, is a renowned national lecturer in the field of psychology, and is on the speaker’s bureau of four major pharmaceutical companies. Dr. Rivas-Vaszuez received a BS in Psychology from Georgetown University, a Doctorate of Clinical Psychology from Nova Southeastern University and an MS in Clinical Psychopharmacology, also from Nova Southeastern. He completed his pre-and post-doctoral training at Harvard Medical School and University of Miami School of Medicine. He is also currently an Adjunct Associate Professor in Psychology at the University of Miami.

Gustavo Rey, PsyD, Neuropsychology Investigator is a Board Certified Psychologist with extensive experience in clinical research, having been published over 70 times in national journals and having conducted over 95 psychology-related studies at MRA. Dr. Rey received his PhD and Master’s Degree in Clinical Neuropsychology from the University of Houston. In addition to his work at MRA, Dr. Rey is currently on the staff of five local hospitals, serves as an Adjunct Associate Professor of Psychology at the University of Miami, and is the Director of Neuropsychology at Miami Children’s Hospital.

Jeremy Tabak, MD, Director of Pulmonology is Board Certified in Internal Medicine. Pulmonary Disease, Critical Care and Sleep Medicine. Dr. Tabak attended medical school at New York University, and took residency and fellowship training at University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Hospital. He serves as a Clinical Assistant Professor of Medicine at the Florida International University School of Medicine. His research interests involve pulmonary diseases including asthma, COPD and Pulmonary Fibrosis.

Dr. Juan Aguilar, MD, Ophthalmology Investigator, is a Board Certified ophthalmologist with more than 20 years experience in medical and surgical treatments of eye disease. Michael Meister, MD, Director of Anesthesiology and Hospital-Based Trials is a Diplomat of the American Board of Anesthesiology (1988).  He received his education at the University of South Florida College of Medicine in Tampa, Florida.  Dr. Meister received his Bachelor of Science with Majors in Biology and Psychology at Duke University School of Medicine, Durham, North Carolina.  Dr Meister's residency in Anesthesia was received at New York Hospital, Cornell Medical Center, New York, New York and in his internship Rotations through Internal Medicine, Surgery, and ICU at New York Hospital, Cornell Medical Center & Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York.
